I’m running on three things.
ECONOMIC SECURITY FOR STRUGGLING FAMILIES — a real living wage, affordable housing, and an economy that works for everyone, not just the folks at the top.
SAFE COMMUNITIES AND EQUALITY — investing in our schools, in mental health, and in dignity for every family, every background, every zip code.
PROTECTING OUR FREEDOMS AND DEMOCRACY — your vote, your body, your family, your future.
Applied with fairness and pragmatism — all of us working together, we can get things done.

Economic Security for Struggling Families
Most people in this district aren’t trying to get rich. They’re trying to get through the month. New Mexico is an at-will state — your employer can end your livelihood and never tell you why. I’ve been on that end of it. I’ll stand with the right to organize and bargain, oppose “right to work,” protect PERA as a defined benefit plan, and index retirees’ cost-of-living increases to what things actually cost.
Preparing New Mexico’s Workforce
My own trade is being automated out from under people who did everything right. Nobody in Santa Fe is asking what happens to the next generation here. I will. Why not a wind energy program like Mesalands runs in Tucumcari? Why not solar training on the East Mesa? Why not a film studio and learning center? The land is here. The people are here. What’s missing is somebody asking.

Smart Growth & Transportation
We have a bridge going up over the river with no real plan for the cars coming off it onto Highway 47. That’s this district in one sentence — growth arrives, planning doesn’t. I’ll bring residents and traffic experts to the table before the next subdivision is approved, not after. I’ll fight for road dollars on the east side, where lawmakers have skipped us for years, and push real transit between Belen and Los Lunas.
Water & Flood Protection
Water comes before profit. Residents and acequias come before industry. Data centers are arriving on big money and big influence, taking land and water while the community gets the bill. I’ll scrutinize every proposal — including whether the water draw should be capped — instead of rubber-stamping it. And I’ll fight for a flood control authority for Valencia and Socorro Counties. I lost my house in the 2021 Belen flood, and everything in it. It took four years for the class action to settle, and it didn’t cover a fraction of what we lost — while the corporate farms were paid up front. Five years on, my house is still uninhabitable.

In 2018 a court found New Mexico was failing Native students, English learners, students with disabilities, and kids from low-income families. The state’s remedial plan is back before a judge right now, with families asking the court to reject it as inadequate. Funding went up — it didn’t go where the violations were. Districts still can’t reliably deliver bilingual education or the counselors and social workers students need. I’ll fight for funding tied to documented need, clear timelines, and real accountability.

Safe Communities, Safe Homes
When you call 911 out here, you wait. We can argue crime policy all day, but public safety starts with whether anybody comes. Our deputies are stretched thin, underpaid, and leaving for departments that pay better — and we ask them to be mental health responders at 2 a.m. with nowhere to take anyone. I’ll fund recruitment and retention, push state dollars toward rural response on the east side, and try to help rebuild the behavioral health capacity this Valencia County and New Mexico lost.

Veterans’ bills die of neglect in Santa Fe. Property tax relief on a veteran’s home. Licensing so a military spouse can work in their own profession after a transfer. Statute language that finally matches federal law. None of it is controversial — it just gets buried under everything else, the session ends, and it dies. Session after session, for years. That’s a scheduling failure, not a policy disagreement. Veterans’ bills should be fast-tracked, and I’ll push to make that happen.

Support Our Seniors
Our seniors earned better than this. People on fixed incomes are getting squeezed hardest of all — and out here, a hot summer with no cooling and nobody checking in can kill somebody. Why not resiliency centers, so our elders aren’t left alone in the heat? I’ll protect PERA, index retiree cost-of-living increases to what things actually cost, as so many New Mexicans served this state through years of hard work and dedication and I will fight to keep care close to home.

Protect Democracy
Your most fundamental right is not the right to vote — it’s the right to register to vote. I’ve been a certified voter registration agent in this county for years, and I’m not going to watch that work get taken apart. There’s an organized effort to make voting harder, and it lands hardest on women, on minority communities, and on people with the least time to fight it. No masked federal agents at our polling places or any other intimidation either.
Protect Personal Freedoms
New Mexico has the largest Hispanic share of any state in the country. That’s not a statistic to us — those are our neighbors, our families, our vecinos. We protect that, or we lose it. Militarized federal enforcement doesn’t stop at the polls — it’s showing up in our neighborhoods, our workplaces, and our schools. I’ll defend LGBTQ+ protections in state law and the dignity of seniors, people with disabilities, and immigrant families. And I trust the women of this district to make their own medical decisions — with their families and their doctors.

Accessible Healthcare
Everyone deserves timely, affordable access to quality healthcare. I support strengthening access to primary care, mental health services, substance abuse treatment, and resources for seniors, veterans, and individuals living with chronic illnesses or disabilities.
Strengthening Rural Healthcare
Living in a rural district shouldn’t mean fewer healthcare options. I strongly support improving access to healthcare providers, expanding mental health services, and ensuring seniors and veterans receive the care and support they deserve close to home.

Responsive Government
When I talk to people at their doors, they tell me they don’t feel represented. They’re right. I’ll hold town halls after every legislative session — you should hear what your representative did, from your representative. I’ll be present between elections, not just before them. That’s the promise, and you can hold me to it.
Fairness & Pragmatism
I’m not just running against something. I’m running for ideas. Bridges between communities, not walls between neighbors. Democrat, Independent, or Republican — if you want a representative who shows up, listens, and votes yes for this district, I’m asking for your vote. All of us working together, we can get things done.
I’m not taking money from oil and gas. I’m not taking money from the extractive industries. That means this campaign runs on people in this district. If a thousand of us give $7, we fund a good portion of this thing ourselves — and I answer to you, working families and families like mine.
